Generous railway sleeper pond in Darwen.

Ponds Northwest constructed this generous railway sleeper pond in Darwen, near Blackburn, in 2022.

The customer already had a small existing railway sleeper pond which he wanted to retain to use as a feeder pond for the new, larger railway sleeper pond, being built on the patio area, below the original pond.

We constructed the pond with new, treated railway sleepers and lined with durable rubber liner. We also relined the original sleeper pond with the same rubber liner and to enhance the relaxing sounds of running water we installed a water blade to allow the water from the top pond to cascade gently into the newly built pond below.

For filtration we added a 20,000 pressure filter with built in uv, to help keep the water clean and clear.
