In 2024, we had the privilege of designing and constructing this exceptionally large raised contemporary pond in Blackrod, near Horwich. Featuring a stunning viewing window, this remarkable pond is not only a breathtaking addition to the garden but also a state-of-the-art aquatic environment built for longevity and optimal fish health.

Holding an impressive 25,000 gallons of water and reaching a depth of 8 feet, this pond build provides ample space for fish to thrive. The interior is fully fibreglass-lined for durability, and we installed three bottom drains to ensure excellent water circulation and debris removal.

Advanced Filtration & Water Quality Management
To maintain crystal-clear water and a healthy ecosystem, we implemented a high-performance filtration system, featuring:

Three Nexus 320 filters for exceptional mechanical and biological filtration.
A 30-inch Evolution Aqua K+ bead filter to further enhance water clarity.
Ten 55W UV filters to control algae growth and keep the water pristine.
Two skimmers for efficient surface debris removal.
A custom-built enclosed filter chamber to house and protect the system.

Innovative Pond Construction & Transformation

This project was particularly unique because the base of the pond was originally a large planter for trees. Rather than starting from scratch, we undertook a major excavation and structural renovation, re-purposing the existing space to create this impressive water feature. The transformation was both challenging and rewarding, resulting in a seamless integration into the landscape while maximising the available space.
