A 3500 Gallon pond we built in Ramsbottom, Bury. It was designed by me and the customer, and then with the help of some builders we constructed the complete koi pond and waterfall.
The hole was excavating for the pond and filter system to the required depths, this excavation was hard because the ground was soft and really wet. The hole kept filling with water, we assessed the situation and realised it was going to be hard to fibreglass, so we fully sheeted the hole to keep the water out. The bottom drain and pipework that will feed the filter from the pond was fitted on top of the sheet. Following this a concrete base was laid in the bottom and around the newly installed drain. The block walls where then constructed.
The pond was then rendered and fibreglassed in black, We are trained and experienced fibreglassers and can fibreglass any shape or size pond or waterfeature.
We fitted an Aqua drum 35 that runs off a bottom drain that then with the use of an external pump feeds an evolution aqua Beed filter UV and evo titanium heater all piped using pressure pipe, fittings and valves. Water clarity is as amazing now as it has been since it was first built.
The outside of the pond was bricked with a nice Marshall’s textured grey brick with Marshall’s grey copings stones that provides a lovely finish and sits nicely in the surroundings of the garden. Gary has since continued to landscape around the pond with some fantastic specimen trees and plants from ‘newbank garden centre’ and ‘the palm tree company’ in Whalley.
The customer purchased all or most of his koi from cascade koi and aquatics and has some lovely Isreali koi, The customer says they settled very quickly and to date there has been no issues with the pond or the koi and the customer is very happy.
